These watches are made to contract (W8482-021015/001/HAL) for the Canadian Department of National Defence by the Marathon Watch Company. They are issued to select Search and Rescue Technicians (SAR), hence the popular nickname. SAR Techs are the Canadian equivalent of the US Air Force's elite ParaRescue Teams.
