Victorinox Swiss Army Rescue Tool Knife
Winner of the 2007 knife of the year. The rescue tool was developed and perfected in cooperation with emergency medical and rescue services in a five-year project. The tool includes the most important functions for freeing someone trapped in a car.
Recently, a co-worker witnessed a fiery accident on the freeway. The car quickly became enguled in flames. He and other witness worked frantically to free the trapped driver. Not having anything to break out the window, he kicked the windows without success. Finally, my co-worker picked up a piece of traffic debris and started banging on the window. After wasted minutes, the window was finally shattered, but then the seatbelt hampered the driver's rescue efforts. Tragically, the driver was burned over 90% of his body. My co-worker sustained serious cuts from the jagged metal car part used to break the window.
Having this tool may not have guaranteed a safe extraction, but two important tools that were sorely needed that day were a window breaker and a seatbelt cutter.

Maratac "Bond" straps in original Zulu and Mil-Series NATO

These watchbands are completely bound around the edges for extra durability. A security strap along the bottom makes it almost impossible to open accidentally. Spyderco Sharpmaker Knife Sharpener
We've started carrying these because simply put, there is no safer, or easier way to make knives sharp and keep them sharp. Since many top knife manufacturers recommended the Spyderco Sharpmaker, even though it happened to be a competing knife brand, that was enough for us.
The Tri-Angle Sharpmaker includes two sets of high alumina ceramic stones: A pair of medium-grit (brown) stones for aggressive sharpening and a set of fine (white) stones for professional grade finishing. The stones are triangular for sharpening Plainedges on the flat sides and SpyderEdges (serrations) on the corners. A furrow running the length of each stone lets you sharpen pointed items like fishhooks, darts and awls. Included is a set of brass safety rods protecting the users hands while sharpening. All components snap into the self-contained ABS plastic base and lid -- ready to travel with you. Die-cut into the base are keyed slots and holes fitted for the stones. They accurately set the stone's sharpening angle at a 30° (15° each side) or 40° (20° each side) for knives and a 12.5° scissor setting. Turn the base over, a channel lets you lay two stones side-by-side (flat-side up) for use as a benchstone. The lid snaps halfway over the base creating a handhold for stability while you're sharpening. Included is a set of brass safety rods to protect the users hands while sharpening.
